About Surface Temperature Calibrators
Surface temperature sensors are calibrated employing special calibration inserts which are placed vertically with the required contact pressure. The best possible temperature reference point on the surface of the calibration insert is found by switching the calibrator control to the external reference temperature sensor. This is located directly under the front face of the calibration insert. The calibration insert is designed in such a way that the best temperature homogeneity is achieved in the middle of the front face. Good thermal contact is enabled by the special surface structure of the front face.
