The Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator with Internal Measuring Instrument is a multifunctional unit capable of calibrating a variety of temperature sensors, IR pyrometers/ thermometers and thermal imaging cameras. Inclusion of an integrated measuring instrument equips the Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator with two channels and ensures the best accuracies on the market.

Furthermore, the Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator has a large calibration volume (Ø 60 x 150mm) enabling the simultaneous calibration of various instruments. It also includes a large temperature range which spans room temperature up to 450°C and has a wide range in the middle-temperature segment. The Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator is the only dry block calibrator on the market with this temperature range.

It also has the fastest stabilisation time on the market and is equipped with a patented fan concept to ensure fast cooling times. As a result, the Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator is both time-efficient and cost-effective.

In addition to this, the Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator features a range of functions designed for calibrating the aforementioned instruments:   

Dry-Block Function

This function enables the user to calibrate straight temperature sensors of virtually any length and diameter when used with the correct adapter sleeve. It is recommended that the adapter sleeve should be 0.5mm larger than the outer diameter of the temperature sensor; this will facilitate optimum thermal coupling.

The Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator is capable of covering its entire temperature range (room temperature to 450°C) without the user having to change the calibration medium. Issues pertaining to viscosity, flashpoints and outgassing are nullified when the Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator is placed in this mode.

Black Body Function

This mode is designed for the calibration of IR pyrometers/ infrared thermometers and thermal imaging cameras. A patented calibration sleeve is used to calibrate these instruments.

The Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator’s special, asymmetrical surface structure creates a cavity radiator with an emission factor of 0.9994; this allows the calibrator to emit the required temperature in an ideal form as the cavity radiator prevents the reflection of interference radiation.

When using the Black Body function to calibrate IR pyrometers and cameras, these instruments are held at a specified distance above the measurement opening. This allows the measurement area required for the calibration to be formed. It is possible to fit the Sika TP 37 450 E.2 Dry Block Temperature Calibrator with a support base.

Surface Temperature Function

This function is used to calibrate surface temperature sensors. To do this the surface temperature sensors are fitted vertically with special sleeves at the required contact force. When engaged, this function changes the calibration control to the external reference sensor which allows the best possible reference point to be created on the surface of the sleeve.

The reference sensor is located beneath the abutting face of the sleeve thereby ensuring that the best temperature homogeneity is created at the centre of the abutting face; the special design of the abutting face also ensures that good thermal contact is made and removes the need for thermally conductive pastes and aids.
