About Fluke Vibration Meters
Fluke vibration meters, such as the Fluke 805, 805 FC, and 810, are handheld devices designed to assess the condition of machinery by measuring vibration levels and bearing health. They provide maintenance teams with reliable, repeatable, and severity-scaled readings, enabling informed decisions about equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Key Functions (Model Dependent)
- Overall Vibration Measurement: Measure overall vibration in acceleration, velocity, and displacement units across a wide frequency range, suitable for a variety of machines.
- Bearing Health Assessment: Fluke vibration meters evaluate bearing conditions by measuring high-frequency vibration signals. This assessment helps detect bearing wear and potential failures.
- Temperature Measurement: Equipped with a spot IR sensor (Fluke 805 and 805 FC), measure surface temperature, providing additional diagnostic capabilities to identify overheating components.
- Severity Assessment: The meters feature a four-level severity scale to help prioritise maintenance actions based on the urgency of identified issues.
- Data Storage and Analysis: Onboard memory capable of storing up to 3,500 measurements (Fluke 805 and 805 FC) or expand storage further with an SD card (Fluke 810).
- Laser Tachometer: Built into the unit allows measurements of RPM without contact (Fluke 810).
- Tri-axial Accelerometer: Reduces measurement time by 2/3 over single axis accelerometers (Fluke 810).
- Fluke Connect: Connect Wirelessly to a smartphone or tablet to export results, share findings and much more (Fluke 805 FC).
Applications
Fluke vibration meters are essential tools for frontline mechanical troubleshooting teams, aiding in:
- Predictive Maintenance: By regularly monitoring vibration levels and bearing conditions, maintenance teams can predict potential failures and schedule timely interventions, reducing unplanned downtime.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring machinery operates within acceptable vibration thresholds helps maintain product quality and process reliability.
- Safety Compliance: Identifying and addressing excessive vibration can prevent hazardous situations, contributing to a safer work environment.
