About FLIR Vibration Meters

FLIR vibration meters are instruments designed to measure and analyze the vibrational characteristics of machinery and equipment. They assess parameters such as acceleration, velocity, displacement, and temperature to monitor equipment health and detect potential issues before they lead to failures.

FLIR vibration meters operate by using a remote vibration sensor, which can be magnetically or stud-mounted to the equipment under test. The sensor detects vibrations, and the meter processes these signals to provide readings in terms of acceleration, velocity, or displacement. Features such as RMS (Root Mean Square) and Peak Value measurement modes allow for comprehensive analysis of vibration levels. Additionally, some models offer data logging capabilities, enabling users to store and recall up to 500 readings for further analysis.

FLIR vibration meters are utilised across various industries for:

  • Predictive Maintenance: Regular monitoring of machinery vibrations helps in early detection of issues like imbalance, misalignment, or bearing failures, allowing for scheduled maintenance before catastrophic failures occur.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that machinery operates within acceptable vibration levels to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Safety Assurance: Identifying excessive vibrations that could lead to hazardous conditions, thereby ensuring a safe working environment.

By capturing vibration analysis data and contact temperature readings, FLIR vibration meters help professionals detect potential issues early, reducing operational costs and preventing downtime.
