The Martindale PD440SX 440V Proving Unit with CALCHECK can be used to maintain compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations. It can be used to prove multimeters, voltage indicators, two-pole voltage testers, and Drummond test lamps before and after use. Due to the inclusion of stepped voltages and a CALCHECK function, the Martindale PD440SX 440V Proving Unit can also be used to check 18th Edition multifunction testers and two-pole voltage testers for calibration issues.
The CALCHECK function can be used to verify the insulation and low-resistance ranges on 18th Edition multifunction testers. This function helps to prevent errors when carrying out condition reports and certifying new wiring installations, it also limits the need for expensive retests by improving the reliability of the results. As such, the CALCHECK function is highly valued by electrical contractor assessment bodies.
The Martindale PD440SX 440V Proving Unit’s stepped voltages (440/230/100/50V AC) correspond to the LED thresholds present on most two-pole voltage testers, allowing the user to check these instruments for calibration issues. Each voltage output is indicated by a dedicated LED and the Martindale PD440SX 440V Proving Unit is colour coded to show that its maximum voltage output is 440V AC, distinguishing it from the 690V models in Martindale’s PDS and PDSX Proving Unit range.
This lightweight, compact instrument is housed in a tough, low-profile, over-moulded case and is supplied with a detachable, high-strength MG3 magnetic hanger. Other practical features present on the Martindale PD440SX 440V Proving Unit included an Auto Power Off function, designed to preserve its long battery life, and a low battery indicator.
The Martindale PD440SX 440V Proving Unit with CALCHECK is ideal for contractors and maintenance teams; it can be used to quickly prove multimeters, voltage indicators, two-pole voltage testers, and Drummond test lamps as well as check 18th Edition multifunction installation testers and two-pole voltage testers for calibration issues.
