Thermal cameras capture infrared images allowing students to see the distribution and transfer of heat clearly, simply, and in an interesting way. Furthermore, as thermal cameras also take temperature readings, students can calculate temperature differences as well as see them.

The FLIR C3-X Compact Thermal Camera is a pocket-sized, rugged, infrared and visible-light imager It has a built-in 5MP digital camera and an IR resolution of 128 x 96px. It also supports MSX imaging which overlays digital details onto thermal images making it easier for students to identify objects. Additionally, it includes Picture-in-Picture mode, four selectable colour palettes (Iron, Grey, Rainbow, and Rainbow HC), and an onboard memory to which approximately 5000 images can be saved. This model is also equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity enabling the wireless transfer of thermal images. Finally, the FLIR C3-X Compact Thermal Camera is classroom safe: it is water and dust resistant (IP54), has been drop-tested from 2m, and features an easy-to-use 3.5” touchscreen display.
