There are two intrinsically safe UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Ultrasonic Inspection System Kits available. These kits differ in regards to their certification:
Please note that non-intrinsically safe kits are available here. Alternatively, a UP9000 Kit optimised for cabin leak detection is available here.
The above kits also vary in regards to their included accessories (see 'What's Included?') and, therefore, their suitability for various tasks (see 'Applications')
Each of the aforementioned kits includes an intrinsically safe (in accordance with the kit’s certification) UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector which utilises ultrasonic technology in order to identify and locate issues and potential problems such as:
The UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector can be used to inspect a variety of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum systems and is able to identify faults in their earlier stages thereby reducing downtime and the degree of maintenance required, which, in turn, reduces associated costs.
The UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector is particularly well suited to point-and-shoot troubleshooting applications and data collection programs. As such, it features a simple, two-control, Spin and Click™ user interface, allowing the operator to adjust settings, modes and functions as well as view and save data efficiently and easily. As a result, the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector can be operated by users of all experiences.
The Spin and Click™ control system can be used to alter the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector’s sensitivity and frequency (range: 20 to 100 kHz) to suit the application. It is also possible to set the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector to a particular function using this simple interface. The UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector features three functions:
In addition to the above functions and adjustable frequency and sensitivity, the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector can be adapted to suit various applications using the included interchangeable modules (see ‘What’s Included?’).
Furthermore, utilising the supplied acoustic-isolating headphones the operator is able to trace the sources of faults by following increases in the volume of specific ultrasonic signals. Ultrasonic volume is also indicated via the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector’s easy-to-read display panel with a calibrated decibel readout and 16-segment bar graph; the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector has a decibel range of up to 120dB.
Alternatively, measurements may be viewed on a vibration analyser as the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector is able to interface with most models (including SKF, ENTEK, DLI, CSI and DI).
During scanning, the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector will automatically and simultaneously register sound intensity changes and Peak Hold values. The UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector’s scanning speed matches that of traditional analogue meters, however, the inclusion of digital technology means that measurements can be stored and used for trending. It is possible to record data to the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector at the push of a button.
Data saved to the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector may be downloaded to a PC via a USB connection. It is also possible to upload information to the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector using this interface.
Additionally, the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector is supplied with licence-free UE Systems Ultratrend DMS Software designed for data logging and management. Using this software, the operator is able to export databases and report documents to MS Excel, as well as see history tables/ spreadsheets, trend charts, and multiple data views. This license-free software expands the UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detector’s scope-for-use and is suitable for managing routes and managing and reporting on asset conditions.
The intrinsically safe (in accordance with kit certification) UE Systems Ultraprobe® 9000 Digital Ultrasonic Detectors are ideal for optimising system efficiency through the early detection, diagnosis and location of existing or potential problems. They are suitable for use in ATEX or EX environments (kit dependent).
