TPI DC580 Airflow Meter Description

The TPI DC580 Airflow Meter can automatically identify the connected probe. When the anemometer is connected to the hot-wire probe it can measure air velocity between 40 and 3900 fpm / 0.2 and 20 m/s; when connected to the vane probe this range changes to 80-4900 fpm / 0.4-25 m/s.

This anemometer is able to measure temperature as it measures air velocity and has a temperature range of -5°F to 175°F / -20°C to 80°C. It features a backlit, dual display in order to indicate these readings simultaneously.

In addition to this, the TPI DC580 Airflow Meter can also measure air volume. When measuring this entity in CMM (cubic metres per minute) the anemometer does not require an air-balance hood. The TPI DC580 Airflow Meter can also take air volume measurements in CFM (cubic feet per minute).

Moreover, this instrument also includes user-selectable measurement units for temperature, °C and °F, and air velocity, choose from m/s, km/h, ft/min, knots, or mile/h.

Other features available on the TPI DC580 Airflow Meter are a Data Hold function, which freezes the most recent measurement on the screen for prolonged viewing and/or manual recording, and a Min/Max/ Avg function. The latter feature will indicate the minimum, maximum and/or average readings detected over the course of a single measurement period.

Values for air velocity and air volume which are between 0~299 can be saved to the instrument; alternatively, the user can connect to an Android smartphone using Bluetooth LE or the TPI app and may share information in this way.

Finally, in terms of the TPI DC580 Airflow Meter’s physicality, it includes a rubberised boot with magnets. The inclusion of these features means that the anemometer is suitable for hands-free operation, thereby improving its practicality and expanding its scope-for-use.
