The Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator can be used to calibrate RCD, loop, insulation, earth, and multifunction testers. It can accurately simulate RCD trip times, as well as measure currents produced by RCD testers, replicate loop impedances and auto-adjust for local line impedance, measure test voltages and currents, and provide insulation resistances. Intuitive menus and a central keypad make navigating the Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator and selecting required measurement functions easy. Settings and measurements are visible on the Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator’s large, clear, LCD.
Measurement Functions
Regional Test Sockets and Fault Detection
The Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator can be fitted with a range of regional sockets via which the tester-under-investigation is connected. Once attached, you can check the tester’s loop and RCD tests. If the 5030 detects a fault it will automatically disconnect the output and warn the user; it is designed not to trip any RCDs on the local supply.
Loop Impedance with Auto Loop Measurement
Ten measurement points and high-power, precision resistors capable of withstanding up to 30A, ensure the Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator can check a wide range of loop testers. To provide precise loop impedance calibration, the Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator combines an accurate local loop measurement with the resistor value to give a loop impedance reading.
Precise RCD Trip Times
Simulate RCD trip times between 10 and 2000ms. For quick selection, predefined RCD trip times can be saved to the Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator. Alternatively, you can set the required time via the front panel.
RCD Current Measurements
The Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator measures the current of the instrument's applied RCD test current. It can measure current between 6mA and 1000mA and offers x0.5, x1, x2, and x5 multipliers up to 2500mA. The Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator provides true-RMS AC current measurements; it can also measure DC test currents. Furthermore, to accommodate for models with a pre-test signal, the 5030 incorporates a pre-test delay to prevent false current measurements. Users can also configure a test current threshold (0 to 100% of nominal current) if required.
Insulation Resistance and Test Voltage Measurement
High-value resistors up to 2GΩ enable calibration of megohm meters. To automate multiple test points, resistance values can be set via the front panel or using a remote control. Additionally, the Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator can check voltage measurement functions. It can measure test voltages up to 1kV while under 0.5mA or 1mA test conditions.
Continuity and Earth Resistance
Low ohm resistors mean the 5030 can be used to calibrate continuity functions present on most multifunction and insulation testers. The Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator will also measure the applied test voltages and currents.
Mains Voltage and Frequency
The Time Electronics 5030 Electrical Tester Calibrator measures the local mains supply voltage and frequency. It uses these readings to verify the unit’s accuracy.
