The Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is an easy-to-use, adaptable, multifunctional environmental test instrument. It can be combined with various compatible OPTIONAL Testo probes in order to measure a range of environmental parameters, including:

It is also possible to program the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester to conduct measurements at particular intervals over a given measurement cycle; the user needs only enter the required measurement period and measurement intervals. Integrated magnets ensure that this unit can be held in place (when attached to a metal surface) throughout the measurement period.
Further to this, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be programmed to determine the volume flow. When used with a hot wire or vane probe (NOT included), the operator can view the volume flow instantly by pre-entering the duct’s cross-sectional geometry and dimensions.
Moreover, when used with a compatible turbulence probe (NOT included), the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can calculate the draught risk automatically. Additionally, when used with a turbulence probe, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is able to measure turbulence in accordance with EN ISO 7730/ ASHRAE 55 despite low air velocities.
Data is viewable on the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s large, graphic display; this instrument will measure and indicate readings for three parameters in parallel. Measurements can be saved to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s internal memory; it is capable of recording up to 7500 measurement protocols. Data can be uploaded to a PC via a USB cable for further processing in a CSV file.
Connected probes are automatically identified by the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester; upon probe identification the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester will adjust its parameters accordingly, again improving the ease and efficiency of testing.
It is possible to connect up to three probes to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester at any one time. The following probe types may be connected to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester simultaneously: a Bluetooth probe (such as the included humidity/ temperature probe), a wired probe (NOT included), and a temperature probe with a type-K thermocouple connector (NOT included).
As the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be used with Bluetooth probes, such as the humidity/ temperature probe included in this kit, the user is able to conduct measurements up to twenty metres away from the unit. This not only expands the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s scope-for-use but also saves on space as long cables are not required, ensuring that the unit and probes can be transported and stored easily.
Furthermore, as the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is able to recognise the connected probe and adjust its parameters accordingly, only the probes need to be sent off for re-calibration, allowing the user to maximise the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s uptime.
The Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be used to adjust air conditioning and ventilation systems as well as monitor air quality and other comfort levels. When used with the included digital, Bluetooth humidity/ temperature probe it is particularly well suited to monitoring storage and refrigeration rooms, workrooms, as well as refrigeration systems, heat pumps and ventilation ducts.
The Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe can be used with the above Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester to measure air temperatures between -20°C and +70°C, and relative humidity between 0 and 100%.
It is also possible to use the Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe in conjunction with the Testo 440 to calculate the dew point, wet bulb temperature, absolute humidity, as well as the heating and cooling outputs. The Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is able to determine the relative humidity and temperature of indoor areas in parallel.
As the Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe is equipped with Bluetooth, it is able to conduct measurements up to twenty metres away from the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester. Furthermore, the user needs only press the button on the Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe to save readings to the Testo 440.
In addition to this, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be programmed to perform measurements at specified intervals over the course of a measurement cycle. Therefore, the Testo 440 and Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe can be left in the field to monitor and log readings over a prolonged period of time, allowing the user to evaluate trends upon completion.
The inclusion of an ILAC-, PTB- and NIST-compliant long-term stable humidity sensor ensures that the data gathered by the Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe is reliable. It is possible to change the Testo Digital Bluetooth Humidity/ Temperature Probe’s head, allowing the user to adapt the instrument to suit the application. As this probe features a universal handle, it can be connected to an array of probe heads enabling the user to perform more tests using less equipment, thereby, saving on space.
