When used with the included Digital Bluetooth CO₂ Probe, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be used to measure and CO₂ concentration, ambient air temperature and humidity in parallel. Measurements are indicated, in parallel, via the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s large, graphic display.
It is also possible to combine this tester with a variety of OPTIONAL compatible Testo probes to measure a range of environmental parameters. Please see the video below for a quick introduction to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester.
It is possible to connect up to three probes to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester simultaneously: this tester is able to accommodate one Bluetooth probe (such as the CO₂, temperature and humidity probe included in this kit), one wired probe (NOT included), and one temperature probe with a type-K thermocouple connector (NOT included).
The Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester automatically recognises the connected probe and adjusts its parameters accordingly, improving the ease and efficiency of testing. Also improving this tester’s simplicity and swiftness of operation is its clearly structured measurement menu which provides fast access to required tests.
When using the included CO₂, temperature and humidity Bluetooth probe, the user is able to conduct measurements up to twenty metres away from the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester, without using long, cumbersome cables.
In addition to improving the practicality of testing, the cable-less Bluetooth probes also take up less space than their fixed-cable counterparts. Moreover, as probe heads can be used interchangeably with the Bluetooth probe’s universal handle, the operator requires less equipment to perform a multitude of tests. Furthermore, as the tester’s measurement capabilities are facilitated by the interchangeable probe heads, only the probe heads need to be sent for recalibration allowing the operator to maximise the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s uptime.
Data acquired using the compatible Bluetooth probe can be saved to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s internal memory by pressing the button on the universal probe handle. Alternatively, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be programmed to take and log measurements at specified intervals over the course of a pre-programmed measurement cycle. The Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester has the capacity to store up to 7500 measurement protocols.
Using the supplied USB cable, saved measurements can be uploaded to a PC for further processing in a CSV file. Alternatively, data can be sent to print via the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s Bluetooth interface (a compatible OPTIONAL Testo Bluetooth/ IRDA Printer is required).
This kit is optimised for conducting temperature, humidity, and CO₂ measurements, however, as mentioned above, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be combined with various probes to facilitate a variety of environmental tests. For instance, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be used to measure volume flow when used with a hot wire or vane probe.
Alternatively, when used with a compatible turbulence probe, the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is able to measure turbulence in accordance with EN ISO 7730/ ASHRAE 55 (even in low air velocities) and will automatically calculate the draught risk.

To ensure measurement accuracy, the Testo Digital Bluetooth CO₂ Probe includes an integrated absolute pressure measurement for carrying out air density compensation.
Readings are saved to the Testo 440 Air Velocity and IAQ Tester via Bluetooth. Data can be saved to the tester by pressing the button on the probe’s universal handle. Alternatively, the user can program the Testo 440 to take and log measurements at specified intervals throughout a pre-programmed measurement cycle.
