Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser Description
As mentioned above, the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser included in this kit is fitted with oxygen, carbon monoxide and nitric oxide sensors, as well as a Bluetooth module. Each of these sensors is TÜV tested and accuracy checked in accordance with the standard EN 50379 Part 2. They are also pre-calibrated to enable the quick and simple swapping of cells on work sites. There is space in this Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser to install another sensor; Testo offers CO, COlow, NO, NOlow, NO₂ and SO₂ sensors.
The inclusion of the aforementioned cells enables the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser to measure:
- O₂: 0 to 25 vol.%
- CO (H₂ compensated): 0 to 10 000ppm
- NO: 0 to 4000ppm
It is also capable of determining pressure difference and air flow measurements for mass flow calculations. As a result, the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser is suitable for industrial applications such as monitoring emissions, analysing flue gas, servicing burners and engines, and verifying the installation of firing plants and energy production systems. This instrument also proves useful during international service operations. For further information, please see the ‘Applications’ section.
To aid the user with conducting measurements, the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser displays useful tips throughout the process, guiding the user through the test. It also includes options for various types of fuel and pre-configured settings for a range of applications, as well as sequences for flue gas parameters, allowing the user to adapt the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser to suit the application.
The versatility of the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser is also improved by its extended measurement range (thinning) which is automatically activated when high concentrations of gas are detected. This feature protects the longevity of these sensors as it ensures that the sensors are not placed under any additional strain when conducting measurements in environments with high gas concentrations.
Also protecting the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser’s cells is its integrated condensation trap and automatically controlled measurement gas pump which regulates the flow in the event of overpressure or negative pressure between -200 mbar and +50 mbar. The condensation trap prevents condensate from accumulating within the gas sensor and will alert the user when it needs to be emptied.
In addition to these protective features, the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser has a compact and rugged design making it suitable for industrial environments. This design also facilitates the quick and easy connection of various OPTIONAL Testo probes. These probes can be used interchangeably as the probe handle is connected to the probe shaft and then attached to the Testo 340.
Also expanding the scope-for-use of the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser is its compatibility with the Testo easyEmissions Software (NOT included) which can be used to create customer-specific and application-specific measurement protocols. When connected to this software via a USB or Bluetooth interface, it also possible to conduct online measurements allowing the user to view real-time values via his/her laptop/PC while the test is ongoing. The Testo easyEmissions Software is designed for reading, editing, archiving and managing data.
The Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser’s Bluetooth capabilities also allow the user to view data in a table or graph via his/her smartphone or tablet with the free Testo App installed. Additionally, this app may be used to send data to print via Bluetooth and a compatible Testo Bluetooth Printer and can be used to operate the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser remotely.
It is also possible to send measurements to print directly from the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser. Using a compatible Testo printer, the operator can send data to print via a Bluetooth or IR interface.
The Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser is an adaptable, resilient and versatile gas detector and analyser optimised for industrial environments and applications.

Applications
Flue Gas Analysis for Thermal Manufacturing Processes
The Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser can be used to determine ways to save fuel and optimise combustion systems, as well as monitor processes, verify that emissions are within the permissible limits and that emissions instruments are functioning correctly.
Service Measurements of Industrial Engines
Compatibility with an array of OPTIONAL, highly heat-resistant Testo probes, as well as an extended measurement range makes the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser suitable for inspecting a variety of industrial engines.
Damage to the CO sensor is prevented by the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser automatically diluting the cell when unexpectedly high concentrations of CO are detected (up to 50 000ppm). This means that the Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser is suitable for measuring industrial engines with undefined engine conditions.
Service Measurements of Industrial Burners
The Testo 340 Flue Gas Analyser proves particularly useful during maintenance and troubleshooting applications and when commissioning safe and efficient burners. It can be used to assess the functionality and efficiency of industrial burners and allows the user to verify that burners are compliant with environmental regulations.
