The upgraded version of T & R's PT18-10, the PT30-10 can output DC voltage of up to 30kV.
Portable and lightweight for easy transportation from test to test, this tester allows the user to check installed cables and jointing systems on high voltage installations for safety and efficiency. The voltage output of the unit is fully variable up to 30kV and the system has maximum charging capability of 10mA.
For added safety, the PT18-10 will lock out testing unless the output is set to zero. It's also key-locked, ensuring that unauthorised personnel can't use the tester at any point. Upon testing completion, the discharge circuit of the tester will discharge the cable under test when the output is switched off or breakdown occurs. If you're working with higher load capacitance, the supplied manual discharging probe can also be used for safe discharging.

Output | |||
---|---|---|---|
Unit Type | Voltage | Continuous | 5 Minutes |
PT18-10 | 0 to ±18kV | 5mA | 10mA |
PT30-10 | 0 to ±30kV | 5mA | 10mA |
The above intermittent on times must be followed by an off time of 15 minutes and is based on ambient temperature of 25°C. | |||

The positive and negative output voltages on the PT series are metered on the HV output by separate analogue instruments. | |||
Unit | Range | Accuracy | |
PT18-10 | 0 to 20kV | ±1.5% of full scale | |
PT30-10 | 0 to 30kV | ±1.5% of full scale | |
The output current on both of the outputs is metered by a dual range analogue instrument. The 1mA range is selected by the 10 pushbutton adjacent to the mA meter | |||
