Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester - Kit

The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester is a digital test instrument that will check the most common types of RCDs to ensure compliance with current standards. This alternative to traditional multifunction testers is able to inspect AC- (standard), ACS- (selective) and A-type RCDs.

The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester includes a number of features usually found on multifunction testers. For instance, it includes the following test sequences and test functions (see below).

Please note that prior to conducting the following test sequences, the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester will monitor the polarity and voltage of the mains supply. When the correct parameters are detected the Volts Present LED will shine green, indicating that the user is able to perform the required test and/or tests.

30mA Auto Test

This test sequence is designed for inspecting 30mA A- and AC-type RCDs. When the TEST button is pressed, the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester will conduct x½, x1 and x5 tests at both 0° and 180°. The results of these automatic tests can be viewed via the display by pressing the recall button, allowing the user to toggle through the readings.

RCD Manual Testing

Using the rotary dial, the operator can select the required RCD type; he/she can then select the required test current using the multiplier button. When the Volts Present LED is green, the user may begin the test by pressing the TEST button. Once engaged, the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester will perform the first test at 0° and will then cycle through to 180° automatically.

Ramp Test

The required RCD type can be selected via the rotary dial and the multiplier button can be used to select the ramp function. Once the Volts Present LED is green and the TEST button has been pressed, the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester will gradually increase the level of leakage applied to the RCD.

Using this function, the operator is able to determine the level of current at which the RCD trips. The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester will display the leakage current at which the RCD trips along with a PASS/ FAIL indication.

Polarity Test Pad

The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester can be used to verify that sockets are truly functional. Reversed wired socket systems with Live (Phase) to earth/ neutral and earth/neutral to Live (Phase) will function and testers will show that wiring is correct despite this dangerous wiring condition. The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester can be used to check for dangerous, reversed wiring in sockets.

30mA auto tests, RCD manual tests and ramp tests can all be conducted using the Hands-Free function. The user needs only select the RCD type using the rotary dial and press the HANDSFREE button to perform hands-free tests. Once the correct polarity and voltage parameters have been determined, the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester will conduct the specified test for the selected RCD type without the user having to press the TEST button.

Results can be recalled to the large, backlit display using the Recall button. It is easy to navigate the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester’s various functions using the large buttons and the smooth rotary dial. The design of the Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester means that it remains easy-to-operate when wearing work gloves.

The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester’s tough rubber boot ensures that it is suitable for use in a variety of environments. Finally, it is equipped with an Auto Switch Off function designed to preserve battery life.

The Socket & See RCD PRO Professional RCD Tester is an easy-to-use, ergonomic digital RCD tester equipped with an array of testing functions suitable for checking the most common RCD types.
