Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester Description
The Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester is the most sophisticated model in Seaward’s Apollo+ PAT Tester range. Like its sister products, the Apollo 400+ and Apollo 500+, this instrument includes extensive testing capabilities allowing it to check high volumes of portable appliances in accordance with the IET 5th Edition Code of Practice. However, the Apollo 600+ also includes a colour camera for capturing images of portable appliances, as well as a number of functions that make the Apollo 600+ suitable for performing health and safety checks in addition to PAT testing. These include:
- A universal risk assessment tool: record hazards, calculate risk scores, plan and document corrective actions.
- Onboard reports for fire detection and emergency lighting: particularly useful when conducting health and safety management applications.
Like its sister product, the Apollo 500+, the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester also features a risk-based retest calculator, allowing the user to determine when the inspected appliance will require re-testing according to the IET 5th Edition Code of Practice. Similarly, it includes the following testing capabilities:
- Low current earth continuity test, with Zap circuit, guaranteeing accurate measurements
- Insulation resistance
- IEC lead test
- Protective conductor current
- Touch current
- Load power/ current
- Alternative leakage current
- RCD test
- Power socket test
- Point-to-point fixed appliance testing for earth continuity and insulation resistance
These tests can be organised into up to 100 user-customised electrical and visual inspection test sequences. The Seaward Apollo 600+’s extensive memory can also accommodate up to 50 000 appliance records and 2000 images.
Information recorded by the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester can be transferred directly onto a USB drive, a capability that is unique to the Apollo 600+; alternatively, data can be sent to a PC via a USB cable or to a compatible Android device via Bluetooth.
Additionally, the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester is an updated version of the Apollo 600 and as such includes a number of improvements to its software compatibility, firmware and hardware. Please see below for further details.
Software Features
Once information is uploaded to a PC, Seaward’s PATGuard 3.4 Software with Time Manager (NOT included) can be used to organise the results into a report. This software is also suitable for creating invoices and the Time Manager function may be utilised in order to organise teams of workers.
As mentioned above, the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester includes Bluetooth communication capabilities allowing it to transfer information to compatible Android devices. In addition to this, the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester is compatible with the printer and scanner included in the Seaward Test ‘n’ Tag Pro Bundle (see below). These instruments facilitate the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester’s ability to read and print labels with 1D barcodes.
Firmware Features
- User permissions for Bluetooth
- A delete option for unwanted results
- The ‘View Data Menu’ has been redesigned to facilitate faster scrolling
- An advanced search function has been included on the ‘View Data Menu’, allowing the user to filter results according to specifications such as the PASS/ FAIL status of each test
- Print results automatically using the ‘After Test’ function
- The leakage test setup includes options for the ‘Worst’ and ‘Last’ results
- Options can be deleted from predictive drop-down menus, allowing the user to tailor them to his/her requirements
- Download information to an Android device using USB on-the-go technology
- Name downloaded files using unique identifiers
- The socket-outlet test allows the user to measure mains voltage and outlet wiring polarity
- The asset’s ID is displayed on all the test screens
- The review step allows test information to be checked prior to the addition of final comments
Hardware Features
The tester is supplied with a wiring harness, test leads with PVC insulation and resilient probes making it suitable for demanding applications.
It also includes a removable, interchangeable battery pack which keeps downtime to a minimum, particularly as the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester can also be powered using a mains supply.
In addition to these hardware updates, the Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester includes a QWERTY keyboard and colour, high-definition display, features found on its predecessor the Apollo 600.
The Seaward Apollo 600+ PAT Tester is a comprehensive, sophisticated tester suitable for PAT testing and health and safety applications.
