Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester Description

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester features the following testing capabilities:

• Low current earth continuity test
• IEC lead test
• Protective conductor current test
• Touch current test
• Load power/ current test
• Alternative leakage current test
• RCD test
• Power socket test

These extensive testing capabilities make the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester ideal for checking mid-volumes of workplace appliances in accordance with the IET 5^th Edition Code of Practice. Furthermore, this instrument is capable of performing point-to-point testing of earth continuity and insulation resistance when used with a suitable OPTIONAL accessory.

Its extensive memory allows the user to create and save up to twenty-five customised electrical and visual test sequences. It is also capable of storing a maximum of 2000 measurements.

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is an upgraded version of the Apollo 400 and as such includes a number of updates to its firmware, hardware and software compatibility; please see below for further information.

Software Compatibility

Results gathered by the Apollo 400+ can be sent to print as this instrument is compatible with printers and scanners. Its Bluetooth capabilities also mean that the Apollo 400+ can send information to compatible mobile phones or tablets.

If results are sent to a PC, data can be organised into reports and invoices using the Seaward PATGuard 3.4 Software (NOT included). This software also includes Time Manager which is designed to aid the user with organising teams of workers.

Firmware Update

In addition to its software compatibility, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester also includes a number of improvements made to its internal firmware, these include:

• New user permissions for Bluetooth
• USB on-the-go technology for downloading information directly onto an Android device
• ‘After Test’ function with the capacity to print results automatically
• Leakage test settings include ‘Worst’ and ‘Last’ options
• Socket outlet test for measuring mains voltage and outlet wiring polarity
• Delete option for unwanted results
• Review Step for checking test details before adding any final comments
• Improved data view - sort data using a variety of different specifications including the PASS/ FAIL status of each result
• Advanced search function
• Drop-down menus can be tailored to the user’s preferences via the deletion of unnecessary options
• Each test screen includes the asset’s ID
• Downloaded files can be named using unique identifiers

Hardware Update

The updates made to the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s software compatibility and firmware improve the tester’s versatility and adaptability. Upgrades made to the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s hardware also work to this end and improve the tester's practicality.

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester includes an interchangeable, rechargeable battery which helps to reduce the downtime of this instrument. It is also supplied with a wiring harness and tests leads with a strong PVC insulation and resilient test probes. These additional accessories make the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester better suited to demanding applications.

However, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester also retains the practical features present on its predecessor’s, the Apollo 400’s, design. These include a QWERTY keyboard and a high-definition colour display which add to both the efficiency and convenience of this instrument.
