The PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display is an easily configurable, simple-to-install and versatile panel meter optimised for measuring current loop. It is part of PanelPilot’s SGD M-Series of Panel Meters/ Displays; please see the video below for a brief introduction to these units.
The PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display has a typical current loop measurement range of 4-20mA; however, it is also able to support 0-50mA and 10-50mA ranges.
Measurements are indicated on the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Panel Meter’s 2.8”, colour, TFT display with resistive touchscreen. It has 16-bit colour depth and a resolution of 320 x 420px, any graphics uploaded to the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display are automatically converted to this format. Readings can be retained on the screen using the Display Hold function.
To ensure that current loop measurements are displayed to the best available resolution, the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Panel Meter includes Programmable Gain Amplifiers (PGAs). To ensure the best resolution, the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display selects the smallest available range that will accommodate the two input voltages entered during scaling.
Scaling is configured using the free PanelPilot Software available for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. This software allows the user to configure the appearance and operation of the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display. He/she can choose from a range of meter-type configurations supplied with the PanelPilot Software. Additional meter types can be downloaded from PanelPilot’s subscription service; however, the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display is not compatible with dual-channel meters available from this library. Using the PanelPilot Software, the operator can program the following parameters:
Completed configurations are uploaded to the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display via a ‘Type A to Mini-B’ USB cable. This process takes approximately ten seconds; implementing the configuration takes a further five seconds.
The PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display can be installed on panels that are 1-3mm deep. To this end, it is supplied with a panel fixing clip and features four screw terminals. Additionally, it features a silicone seal to improve fitting on thin panels.
Alternatively, the operator can use the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display’s DIL IDC socket to make the necessary connections.
Finally, the PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display includes provisions for future expansion using data buses and alarm outputs.
The PanelPilot SGD 28-M420 2.8” Programmable Current Loop Display is a cost-effective, convenient and customisable panel meter optimised for current loop measurements.
