PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display

The PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display is an adaptable panel meter optimised for voltmeter applications. It is part of PanelPilot’s M-series of Panel Meters/ Displays, please see the following video for a brief overview of this series.

The PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display can measure voltages between 0 and 40V DC and includes Programmable Gain Amplifiers (PGAs) to ensure that readings are displayed to the best available resolution. To ensure the best resolution, the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display selects the smallest voltage range able to accommodate both of the input voltages entered during scaling. The maximum input voltage that the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display can accommodate is 40V DC. Each of the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Panel Meter’s channels can be programmed independently and is able to support up to eight different input voltage ranges.

Measurements are indicated on the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Panel Meter’s 2.8”, colour, TFT display with a 320 x 240px resolution and 16-bit colour depth. Using the Display Hold function the user can freeze measurements on the screen. Graphics uploaded to the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display are automatically converted to a specification supported by the panel meter.

The PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Panel Meter’s display and operation can be configured using PanelPilot’s free Software available for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. There are multiple voltmeter configurations available using the PanelPilot Software, however, additional meter types can be downloaded from the PanelPilot subscription service. Using the PanelPilot Software, the user can program the following parameters:

• Meter type
• Text labels (including units and graph labels)
• Background
• Graphs and graph segments (bar, tank style, analogue style and trend graphs are available)
• Text colours
• Input scaling/ calibration (at two points)
• Decimal points (entered during scaling)
• Splashscreen image (the user can select an image, for instance, a logo, to appear upon start-up)

Upon completion, the configuration is uploaded to the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display via a ‘Type A to Mini-B’ USB Cable. It takes approximately fifteen seconds to transfer and affect configurations.

Once configured, the PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display can be mounted to panels that are between 1mm and 3mm deep. It includes a silicone seal to improve fitting on thin panels, and its panel fixing clip and four screw terminals facilitate easy installation.

The PanelPilot SGD 28-M 2.8” Programmable Voltmeter Display is also supplied with a DIL IDC socket which provides an alternative connection method to screw terminals. Moreover, this panel meter has also made provisions for expansion using data buses and alarm outputs.
