Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools

The Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools can be used for a wide variety of bolting and non-bolting applications. These tools are suitable for tightening and untightening bolts with diameters of up to 150mm, they can be used to adjust the following:

• Wheel nuts on lorries, buses and large machinery
• Structural steelwork
• High-pressure joints such as pipelines, boiler feed pumps and pressure vessels
• Engine head bolts
• Injector heads on plastic injection moulding machines
• Heat exchangers
• Chassis and suspension bolts during the production of heavy vehicles

These instruments are also of particular use during the following processes which require a continuous source of high torque:

The Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools include an efficient air motor contained within an accurate torque tool. These instruments feature a pistol-grip handle ensuring that they are easy to handle. The Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools also feature easily accessible switches for forward and reverse operation, again adding to their ease of operation.

Moreover, these instruments have been designed to ensure a better power-to-weight ratio and are up to 2.5 kg lighter than Norbar’s PT-model equivalents. The Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools are also up to 60% faster than Norbar’s PT-72 models. To this end, they feature an air coupling design optimised for rapid, as well as safe, operation, this makes the Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools ideal for fast bolt rundown. 

Also adding to the safety of these instruments is their directional exhaust barrels which send exhausts away from the operator. These instruments have also been designed to limit sound pressure levels to between 77 dB(A) and 79 dB(A) (sound emission values have been determined in accordance with BS EN ISO 11148-6), thereby reducing the level of protection required by the user. Furthermore, in the interests of safety and ease-of-operation, vibration levels have also been kept low, 0.343 m/s²; this also ensures that the Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools are non-impacting adding to their accuracy and reliability.

The Norbar PTS™ 52 Series Bi-directional Pneutorque Stall Torque Tools will stall repeatedly to within ±5% of the reading (at 20 to 100% of the instrument’s range).
