The LinkRunner AT 4000 is a cutting-edge network cable tester for modern networking tasks and infrastructural diagnostics. The tester is suitable for fibre and Multigigabit Ethernet environments. It includes network discovery and topology mapping with advanced diagnostics and problem detection.
Using network discovery and layer 2 and 3 path analysis, the LinkRunner AT 4000 offers comprehensive network visibility to help resolve issues impacting multiple devices while still providing automated tests for moves/ adds/changes validation and troubleshooting.
Test results can be automatically uploaded to the Link-Live collaboration, reporting, and analysis platform. Independent management plane via wired or Wi-Fi connection (with optional adapters) allows remote operation and result uploading separate from the network under test.
Key Features
- Automatically discover and generate a topology map of your networks using the Link-Live™ reporting and analysis platform, providing instant visibility.
- Comprehensive AutoTest validates and troubleshoots all aspects of network connectivity, including DHCP, DNS, gateway availability, link speed, and service response times.
- Verifies link speed and duplex for 10/100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, with detection of Multigigabit links (NBASE-T 2.5G, 5G, 10 Gbps).
- Discovers nearest connected switch name and port information via CDP/LLDP/EDP, including VLANs, and monitors VLAN trunk traffic.
- Validates Power over Ethernet (PoE) switching and cabling up to 90W 802.3bt standard with TruePower™ loading, ensuring reliable deployment of PoE devices.
- Advanced twisted-pair cable tests for length, wire map, faults like shorts, opens, and mis-wires (split pairs, crossovers), fibre optic link signal strength power measurement, and SFP diagnostics. Locate cable endpoints with optional WireView adapters.
- Offers detailed path analysis from the tester to a destination URL or IP, with packet capture capabilities for in-depth traffic analysis.
- Discovery catalogues all network-connected devices across multiple VLANs and subnets, gathering details on device types, names, addresses, and more to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Path Analysis evaluates the network path to a specific target, identifying problematic segments or devices that hinder performance.
- Switch Test collects extensive data on connected switches, including configuration details and PoE statuses, to resolve access layer issues swiftly.
- Ping/TCP testing verifies device reachability and network service availability for insights into network stability and performance.
- Packet capture facilitates in-depth analysis of traffic patterns and packet flows for troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring security compliance.
- Performance Reflector integrates with other NetAlly tools to perform end-to-end performance tests, ensuring network segments meet required speed standards.
- iPerf measures and validates network bandwidth to confirm load-handling capacity for data-heavy applications.
- LANBERT Media Qualification tests the transmission of line-rate Ethernet frames, determining maximum error-free bandwidth and preventing unnecessary cabling upgrades.
- Link-Live offers centralised management of test data for tracking, analysis, and historical comparisons, supporting long-term network health monitoring.
- Collaborative and remote control capabilities enable team access to test results and troubleshooting in real-time, essential in managed IT environments.
