The Mitutoyo Series 500 Absolute Digital Coolant Proof Calipers are equipped with Mitutoyo’s ABSOLUTE measurement systems and feature an advanced, easy-to-use design with a single button. The Mitutoyo Series 500 Absolute Digital Coolant Proof Calipers can be used to determine depth, steps, and outside and inside dimensions. They are specifically designed for use in workshops that are exposed to coolants, water, dust, and/or oil.
Readings are displayed on the large, easy-to-read LCD. To conserve battery life, the display switches off after twenty minutes of inactivity; it can be reactivated by moving the slider. The ABS scale unit origin is not lost during Auto Power Off, allowing the Mitutoyo Series 500 Absolute Digital Coolant Proof Calipers to be used immediately when switched back on.
Using an OPTIONAL interface input tool, data can be converted into keyboard signals allowing it to be directly inputted into spreadsheet software.
Functions
In addition to the above, the Mitutoyo Series 500 Absolute Digital Coolant Proof Calipers include several functions and features. Please note that not all models are equipped with all the following:
- ABSOLUTE Measurement System: these calipers only need to have their origin position configured once; it will remain set regardless of how many times the instrument is switched off. This means users can conduct measurements without engaging the zero setting and can perform incremental measurements without compromising the origin value. The ABS (absolute) origin position can be altered using the ORIGIN button.
- ZERO/ABS Button: zeroes the display at any slider position along the scale enabling comparative measurements. This button can also be used to return to Absolute mode, as well as display the true position from the origin (usually jaws closed point).
- Incremental Measurement Mode (Zero-Setting): set the display to zero at any position for comparative measurements.
- Inch/mm Selection: users can switch between measurement units at any time.
- Scale Contamination Detection: if contamination is detected on the surface of the scale the caliper will display an error message and stop measurement.
- Low Voltage Alert: a battery indicator appears on the display when the battery voltage becomes low.
- Display Overflow/ Calculation Error Alerts: error messages are displayed and measurement stops in the event of a display overflow or calculation error; measurement cannot resume until the fault is corrected.
- Data Output (OPTIONAL – Model Dependent): an output facilitates data transfer to Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and enables integration into SPC and measurement systems.
