The upgraded version of Megger's MIT515 HV insulation resistance tester, the MIT525 includes additional functionality not found on the basic unit.
This insulation tester is made for use with a wide variety of electrical equipment and is an essential for detecting insulation breakdown before it becomes a serious issue. It can be used with cables, transformers, circuit breakers and motors/generators, ensuring everything is in good working order.
Testing with the MIT525 is simple; use the rotary dials on the front of the tester to select the tester and/or test voltage you want, connect up and press the test button. The instrument can test insulation resistance to 10TΩ with selectable test voltages of 250, 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000V (plus a voltage lock function). It can also be used to test polarisation index (PI) and dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) automatically.
The Megger MIT525 is designed with portability in mind; the unit is lightweight and small in size for easy transportation. It's also protected against damage thanks to its unique, dual casing which can completely cover the unit when in transit.
What's Different Compared to the MIT515?
The main difference between this unit and the MIT515 is the inclusion of fully downloadable internal memory. The tester can store a large amount of results directly in its built-in memory, then this data can be easily transferred across to PC and interacted with using Megger's PowerDB Lite asset management software (included as standard with the tester). All results are date and time stamped and can be recalled directly on screen using the tester if needed.
Megger's MIT525 also comes with additional testing functions: step voltage, dielectric discharge and ramp testing.
