Micronics Portaflow PF D550 Doppler Flow Meter
The Micronics Portaflow PF D550 Doppler Flow Meter is a clamp-on, non-invasive, ultrasonic doppler flow meter with an output of 4-20mA. It is optimised for closed pipe applications and can be used to monitor and balance flow, as well as troubleshoot flow issues, in full pipes containing ‘dirty’ liquid. Fluids containing bubbles or solids are considered ‘dirty’ liquids; this includes wastewater, slurries, sludge, most chemicals, acids, caustics, and lubrication fluids.
The Micronics Portaflow PF D550 Doppler Flow Meter is suitable for use with pipes between 13mm and 4500mm. Its ultrasonic sensor is clamped onto the outside of a pipe, a pulse is transmitted into the pipe and subsequently reflected back to the sensor by particles in the liquid. The volume flow is then totalised and displayed on the Micronics Portaflow D550 Doppler Flow Meter’s 10-digit totaliser screen. Users can choose to view measurements in either gallons, litres, cubic feet, or cubic metres. The simple 5-key interface ensures users can access and alter settings quickly and easily. This interface also facilitates fast calibration of the Micronics PF D550 Meter.
Additionally, time- and date-stamped readings can be recorded to the integrated 300 000-point data logger at a rate ranging from every ten seconds to every five minutes. This enables continuous measurement. Alternatively, users can program the Micronics Portaflow PF D550 Doppler Flow Meter to log the average, minimum, maximum, and total readings recorded every day or every hour. Data can be transferred to a PC or laptop via a USB interface for use with Micronics’ free logger software. Measurements may be viewed in a table or graph and can be exported using this program.
The Micronics Portaflow PF D550 Doppler Flow Meter supports AC/DC operation. It can be powered by a built-in rechargeable battery that provides all-day operation or a 110-240VAC wall plug adapter.
