The Metrel MD 9050 is an industrial-grade, heavy duty digital multimeter that is designed to carry out several different electrical tests while being rugged enough to withstand the stresses of dangerous environments.
As standard the MD 9050 can carry out true RMS AC/DC voltage measurement, true RMS AC/DC current measurements, capacitance measurements, resistance measuremeents, diode testing procedures, mains supply frequency measurements, frequency of digital signals measurements, continuity testing (with acoustic signalling), conducatance testing, electrical field detection and temperature measurements. All of these functions are available as standard simply by turning the rotary dial or pressing the button on the front of the device, making the MD 9050 a highly versatile instrument that negates the need to carry around multiple testing tools.
The MD 9050 is an autoranging digital multimeter, but it's also possible for users to switch to a manual ranging mode should they prefer. The aforementioned true RMS mode available for voltage/current measurements ensures users gain accurate readings on sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal signals, and the device also includes an autocheck function that detects the presence of AC/DC voltage and resistance.
