The Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter is a compact yet comprehensive electrical tester that can be used for a variety of simple, low-volume applications such as HVAC troubleshooting, electrical testing (low-level), electronic fault finding (low-level), and basic field servicing. The Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter is also suitable for hobbyists.
As the Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter features an array of testing capabilities it can be used to detect and diagnose most electrical and electrotechnical problems. The Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter is able to measure the following parameters:
- AC/DC voltage
- AC/DC current
- Capacitance
- Resistance
- Frequency
- Temperature
This instrument is also capable of performing diode and continuity tests; when continuity is detected the Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter will issue an audible alert. Additionally, the Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter can be used to detect electric fields: it is capable of performing contact (with probes) and non-contact (without probes) electric field detection.
The Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter is auto-ranging, however, it is possible to switch to manual-ranging allowing the user to tailor the instrument to his/her preferences and/or the application. This instrument is also equipped with a Relative Zero Mode, allowing the operator to compare the difference between signals and/or remove background noise.
Measurements are indicated on the Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter’s display with large, easy-to-read digits. The user is able to freeze the most up-to-date measurement on the screen by engaging the Hold function. It is also possible to download measurements to a PC with Metrel’s OPTIONAL Software installed.
This small, simple-to-use multimeter can be operated using a single hand. The ergonomically designed Metrel MD9016 Electrical Field Service Multimeter is suitable for a variety of applications and as such features the following safety rating: CAT II / 1000 V, CAT III / 600 V and CAT IV / 300 V overvoltage protection.
