Megger's VIDAR is used for checking the integrity of vacuum interrupters used with vacuum circuit breakers. This powerful unit gives you the ability to quickly and conveniently test that vacuum interrupters (VI) are intact and working correctly before putting into operation.
Developed alongside leading manufacturers of vacuum circuit breakers, the VIDAR is built from the ground up to test the operational integrity of vacuum interrupters. The compact, lightweight design of the VIDAR makes it suitable for use in both field work, and shop floor applications.
The system works by a known relationship between flashover voltage and the vacuum interrupter under test. During the testing, a suitable test voltage from a selectable range from 10 to 60kV C is applied to the breaker. The VIDAR will then light a green lamp for approval of the VI, or light a red light if the vacuum interrupter is determined to be defective.
For added safety of the user, the Megger VIDAR includes two-handed control and a high voltage warning lamp.
