The Megger TC3231 Spot Thermal Imaging Camera functions as a combined infrared imaging camera and infrared thermometer. It is ideal for basic troubleshooting and qualitative hot/cold spot detection. For instance, this thermal imaging camera can be used to detect faulty electrical components and exposed blocked pipes.
The Megger TC3231 has a field-of-view of 38° x 38°, a fixed focus, and automatic level and span. It has a frame rate of 9Hz, a thermal sensitivity (NETD) of ≤ 150mK, and is able to measure temperatures between -20°C and +300°C.
The thermal images have an IR resolution of 32 x 31px and include 992 measurement points. This infrared imager compensates for reflected temperature and provides on-screen emissivity correction. The user can view the centre-spot temperature and can program the TC3231 to include temperature alarms, allowing him/her to identify potential issues quickly. In addition to this, the camera includes selectable thermal palettes allowing the operator to tailor the thermal image to the application.
Furthermore, it includes a visual camera which captures digital images that may be overlaid onto thermal images to enhance features; this is particularly useful when pinpointing the source of faults such as the failing component on an electrical panel.
Up to six-thousand thermal images can be saved to the supplied microSD card; these pictures can be downloaded to a PC as .BMP files for inclusion in reports. The TC3231 features USB interface to facilitate image download as well as recharging of its Li-Ion battery. It also features an Auto Power Off function which will turn the IR imager off after ten minutes of inactivity.
