The Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers (5kV) can be used to measure the insulation of cables, transformers, motors/ generators and bushings used in the power generation, transmission and distribution industry sectors. These high-performance ohmmeters are of particular use to service companies, power utilities companies, substation technicians, and original equipment manufacturers and repairers.
The Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Tester is available in two models that differ only in regards to the inclusion of a transport case. The Megger S1-568-TC-UK Diagnostic Insulation Tester is supplied with a transport case, whereas the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Tester is NOT supplied with a transport case.
The Megger S1-568-TC-UK’s transport case may prove particularly useful to individuals storing the tester and accompanying leads in a vehicle. The transport case is designed to contain the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Tester, two standard test lead sets, fused test leads, and a set of screened test leads, ensuring that all the required equipment is kept neatly in the same place.
The Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers are safety rated to CAT IV 600V up to 3000m and can be used to perform the following tests and checks:
The Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers are some of Megger's most advanced high-performance DC ohmmeters. To this end, they include five pre-set voltages and a user-settable voltage lock (for use when the testers are set to Insulation Test mode), 8mA of noise rejection, and four software filters (10s, 30s, 100s and 200s).
Furthermore, it is possible to operate the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers remotely via a USB cable. The user is able to perform automated resistance test sequences from a safe and convenient distance via this cable; this feature is particularly useful for substation technicians and original equipment manufacturers and repairers.
Measurements may be viewed via the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers’ large, backlit displays. It is possible to view multiple readings via the displays, as well as a real-time clock. The inclusion of a real-time clock means that it is possible to date- and time-stamp measurements to be saved to the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers’ integrate memories. Results can also be saved with the temperature and humidity (measured separately) and may be retrieved from the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers’ expansive memories using the on-screen recall function.
Data may be downloaded to the Megger Power DB Lite/ Advanced Asset Management Software via an isolated USB cable or using the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers’ Bluetooth® interfaces.
The Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers include two rotary switches and an intuitive user interface ensuring that it is easy to navigate the ohmmeters' functions, features and tests. These ohmmeters also feature a graphical quick-start guide printed on the inside of their removable lids; this serves as a useful reference tool for first-time users.
The removable lid allows the operator to access test terminals more easily; additionally, it includes a clip-on pouch for storing test leads. Also adding to these instruments' practicality is their robust outer casing and a fire-retardant inner casing which ensure that Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers are protected from dust and water ingress, as well as any potential damage that may be caused by rugged environments. This durable, resilient, dual casing makes these ohmmeters suitable for use in industrial environments, thereby expanding their scopes-for-use.
Furthermore, the Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers are supplied with an IEC62133-compliant, Li-on battery capable of powering the instruments for up to six hours. These batteries can be recharged within two hours, however, if they become rundown the operator may power the ohmmeter via an AC power source, thereby reducing downtime.
The Megger S1-568 UK Diagnostic Insulation Testers are versatile, practical and comprehensive high-performance ohmmeters optimised for use within the power utilities industry.
