The Megger PD Handheld Scanner is a lightweight, robust and portable three-in-one partial discharge detector with an integrated camera and QR scanner. It includes internal TEV and airborne acoustic sensors and is compatible with an array of external sensors such as TEV, HFCT, airborne acoustic and contact probes. The Megger PD Handheld Scanner enables early detection of partial discharge emanating from faults in MV (medium voltage) and HV (high voltage) plants, as well as MV switchgear and other electrical equipment. Compatibility with an array of sensors means the Megger PD Handheld Scanner can be used for a variety of applications:

• Detect PD (partial discharge) in cable insulation using an HFCT sensor
• Measure PD in encapsulated switchgear using a contact probe sensor
• Identify corona and surface discharge in HV and MV systems using a parabolic acoustic sensor

Furthermore, the Megger PD Handheld Scanner features different views and a PRPD display to enable recognition of different defects.

The Megger PD Handheld Scanner automatically recognises the connected external sensor which improves ease of operation. This partial discharge detector features an intuitive touchscreen display and three soft keys ensuring that it is simple to use.

In addition to this, the Megger PD Handheld Scanner includes a temperature and humidity sensor to monitor the effect of these parameters on partial discharge. As this sensor is directly connected to the detector, temperature and humidity data is automatically stored in the test files. Moreover, as the Megger PD Handheld Detector includes a built-in QR scanner for asset recognition, results will be automatically assigned to the asset’s data folder. The user does not need to rename/ create a folder for each new test object. Data can be transferred wirelessly to a smartphone or tablet via USB OTG.

Measurement data is automatically evaluated by the Megger PD Handheld Scanner. Its integrated camera allows images to be incorporated into reports. Using the supplied MeggerBook Software, detailed reports for each test object can be created quickly.

This Megger PD Handheld Scanner Set (the Professional Switchgear Set) also includes a wireless and comfortable Bluetooth headset (which can be used with a helmet) for added convenience.
