Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser
Description

A portable, efficient, easy-to-use, safe, advanced three-phase transformer test system, the Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser delivers complete ratio, phase, and winding resistance measurements for three-phase transformers. It effectively checks power transformers, distribution transformers, CTs and VTs (PTs), and motors/generators.

Models

The Megger MWA300 and MWA300A differ regarding their operating systems. Please see the table below for further details.

Model Operating System Notes
MWA300 Remote Controlled
  • "Black box"-style meter
  • Remote controlled via a PC running Megger's PowerDB Software
MWA300A Built-in Computer
  • On-board computer
  • 305mm (12") colour display
  • Touchscreen interface

Measurements

All ratio and winding resistance tests are performed by the Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser and one three-phase lead-set connection that ensures all six windings can be tested faster and safer. Its test and measurement capabilities include:

  • 3-phase turns ratio
  • 3-phase winding resistance
  • OLTC/continuity (make-before-break)
  • 3-phase core demagnetisation
  • Magnetic balance/ flux distribution
  • Excitation current
  • Polarity and phase angle deviation
  • Auto vector detection
  • Heat-run test

The Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser can also be used to check the contact and timing health of LTC (OLTC) tap changers. It offers single-person testing of LTC with support for an optional remote tap controller (RTC-1).

Setting up tests is quick and easy as the Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser includes just one simple test form.

Ergonomic Design

Smaller and lighter than other instruments on the market, the Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser includes unique Kelvin clamps with patented adjustable jaws that open to 100mm (4-inch) and banana plug inputs for connection to terminal blocks. This removes the need for special lead sets and reduces the possibility of user errors due to lead connections.

Furthermore, the Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser does not need to be used with a switch box; once again ensuring safer and easier operation.

The Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser also includes built-in demagnetisation and a USB interface for data transfer to a PC.

The Megger MWA300/300A Phase Rotation & Winding Resistance Analyser is a safe, simple, speedy TTR and resistance testing instrument.
