Note: there are three different versions of the Megger MOM2 available. The kits are as follows.
Megger's MOM2 is a high accuracy, low resistance micro-ohmmeter commonly used for testing contact resistance of low, medium and high voltage breakers, bus bar joints and other high current links.
Equipped with a powerful ultra capacitor, the MOM2 generates high output current, with the ability to store large amount of energy compared to conventional capacitors. When testing, this will deliver high levels of current during the discharge thanks to low internal resistance.
During the test, the capacitor is discharged through the test object and the voltage drop across (and the current flow through the test object) are continuously sampled together. The level of resistance is calculated from the individual samples and an average of all results will be shown as a final value on the MOM2's built-in LCD screen.
For added safety, the Megger MOM2 uses DualGround measurement techniques. With this, the test object is safely grounded on both sides, ensuring the safety of the operator and others while tesitng is ongoing.
The Megger MOM2 is also a datalogging tester; up to 104 test values can be stored directly on the micro-ohmmeters internal memory, then can be transferred to PC via Bluetooth connection (PC software included as standard in all available kits).
