Locate ground faults on ungrounded DC and AC systems, DC battery systems, and protected IT networks using the Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator. It automatically distinguishes between real fault current and reactive current drawn by stray system capacitance and will issue an audible and visual alarm when a real failing is found. The Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator can identify issues up to 400kΩ on AC/DC systems up to 600V.
Additionally, the Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator offers practical features such as simple save and recall of measurements; fused test leads for ARC flash safety; and it can be powered via AC or the internal battery.
DC Ground Faults
Designed for fast, easy ground fault detection, the Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator issues an alarm when a real ground fault is located. Failings are simple to trace using the lightweight transmitter and receiver; complicated tuning out of noise or capacitance is not required; and the adjustable voltage and current limits are password-protected to prevent accidental alteration resulting in too much current entering the system.
The Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator can identify high-impedance ground faults due to water ingress and ground faults on systems with high leakage currents. It can also measure the following parameters:
- Ground fault resistance
- System capacitance
- Real fault current
- Reactive leakage current
AC Ground Faults
The Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator detects earth faults in IT networks, control lines, or signal lines in railways (for example) by directly coupling to the line via a coupling filter while the system is either online or offline.
The Megger MGFL100 Battery Ground Fault Locator is a safe, simple, versatile instrument for identifying AC/DC ground faults.
