Megger EVCA210-UK Description
The Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter can be used with a single or multifunction tester, such as Megger’s 1741+ Multifunction Electrical Installation Tester, and appropriate connectors to verify the functionality and safety of single- and three-phase electric vehicle charge points in accordance with IEC/ EN 61851-1 and IEC/ HD 60364-7-722.
Test instruments, such as the aforementioned single and multifunction testers, can be front-mounted to the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter’s mains socket or via the 4mm connection ports, L1, L2, L3, N and PE. Additionally, the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter includes CP signal terminals via which an oscilloscope can be connected, thereby allowing the user to measure CP signals.
Compact and simple-to-use, the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter is designed to provide all the functions required to fully test Mode 3 AC electric vehicle charge points and is compliant with UK, European and other international wiring regulations and standards, such as the Low Voltage Directive LVD 2014/35. To this end, the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter is supplied with a type 2 connector for testing charging points with panel-mounted sockets or a fixed cable with a vehicle connector, and a type 1 connector for checking charging points with a fixed type 1 cable connector, such as those found on a Mitsubishi PHEV.
The Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter simulates the connection of an electric vehicle to the charging point. The user triggers the simulated charging process by using the rotary switch to select either the Proximity Pilot (PP) or Control Pilot (CP) states.
In addition to this, the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter features two dedicated function buttons for simulating either a CP Error “E” or PE Error (Earth Fault). The CP Error simulates an error on the control pilot circuit while the PE Error simulates the disconnection of the PE circuit; both of these manual tests can be used to ensure the output of the charge point is disconnected correctly.
Importantly the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter also includes a function button for performing a manual PE Pre-Test which checks whether any dangerous voltages are present on the PE circuit. This test should be performed prior to commencing any other checks; if the EV charging point fails the PE Pre-Test all other tests must be halted until after the fault has been investigated and rectified.
Finally, the Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter has an ingress protection rating of IP54 and a safety rating of CAT II 300V.
The Megger EVCA210-UK Electric Vehicle Charge-Point Adapter is an ergonomic and easy-to-use adapter specifically designed for testing the safety and effectiveness of electric vehicle charging points.
