Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter

The Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter is a rugged (IP54), electrically safe (CAT III 600V/ CAT IV 300V) and compact 2A low-resistance meter. It will provide quick, precise and reliable measurements in electrically noisy environments making it suitable for use industrial, railway and aviation sectors. Please see the video below for a quick introduction to the Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter.

Introducing the DLRO2

The Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter’s rechargeable HR6 NiMH batteries, along with its separate Inductive Load function, ensure that it can provide a 2A test current for approximately 15 seconds. This enables testing of smaller inductive loads. Fully charged, the Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter can conduct five-hundred three-second 2A tests.

In addition to this, the Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter can safely test the resistance of inductive loads at 1A. It features a Fast/Long Test Lead mode which enables efficient testing at 1A into 4Ω. This function is ideal for testing subsea cables, and wind turbine and avionic lightning protection. It supports manual and automatic starts and will display measurements in mΩ, making it ideal for non-technical or inexperienced users.

The Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter also features Normal Resistance and Inductive Resistance modes:

  • Normal Resistance mode: the maximum test current can be set at 2A; the Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter will auto-range to accommodate the measured resistance up to this value. This mode offers the greatest flexibility, provides full control over the ohmmeter’s test features, and is ideal when the component-under-test has a limit to the current it can withstand.
  • Inductive Resistance Mode: ideal for continuity detection below 200Ω, and testing small to medium electric motors and small power distribution transformers, this mode provides a test current of 1A to improve charge time; it will auto-range the test current as the inductance is charged. This mode supports Auto Stop and will halt the test as soon as a stable result is reached.

The Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter can run tests in a Bidirectional or Unidirectional mode to improve efficiency and conserve the battery life. The Bidirectional test mode provides forward and reverse measurements which are viewable on the secondary display. Furthermore, this mode reduces the effects of standing EMF voltage.

The Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter provides an accuracy of 1%. Moreover, to ensure result stability and repeatability, the Megger DLRO2 will issue a warning when electrical noise or noise caused by poor clip/probe connections is present.

The user can view up to three results via the Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter’s display making this instrument ideal for testing three-phase systems. Additionally, it includes a NEW Difference Meter which compares readings to an initial reference measurement. The Difference Meter converts percentage differences into an easily interpretable needle/pointer movement. Please see the video below for further information.

Finally, to prevent inadvertent downtime, the Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter will protect itself, without blowing a fuse, against accidental connection to lines of up to 600V.

The Megger DLRO2 Handheld Low Resistance Ohmmeter is an accurate, reliable and durable low resistance meter suitable for use in a variety of industries.
