About the Megger DLRO10X Low Resistance Ohmmeter
The Megger DLRO10X is a powerful, easy-to-use low resistance ohmmeter (digital microhmeter) suitable for a wide variety of DC resistance measurement applications including:
- Switch and contact breaker resistance
- Busbar and cable joints
- Aircraft frame bonds and static control circuits
- Integrity of welded joints
- Inter-cell connections on battery systems up to 600V peak
- Quality control of resistive components
- Transformer and motor winding resistance
- Rail and pipe bonds
- Metal alloys, welds and fuse resistance
- Graphite electrodes and other composites
- Wire and cable resistance
- Transmitter aerial and lightning conductor bonding
Megger's DLRO10X is the upgraded version of the standard DLRO10. The main differences between the two units are that the DLRO10X has a built-in alpha-numerical keypad for entering test notes, allows the user to select high and low testing limits and can also output results to a PC or a printer (sold separately) after testing by storing results in its internal memory.
When testing, the DLRO10X makes performing testing procedures as simple as possible thanks to fully automatic procedures. The DLRO10X is intelligent enough to automatically select the most suitable testing circuit up to 10A DC and can be used to measure resistance from 0.1μΩ to 2000Ω across 7 different measurement ranges.
If you require more control over measurements, the DLRO10X has a built-in menu system which is controlled by a two-axis paddle. This allows you to manually select the maximum test current as needed to cater for use in a wide variety of different applications.
There's so much more to the DLRO10X too - see below for a comprehensive breakdown of the features of this advanced low resistance ohmmeter.
Supplied with Megger's Duplex Connect Test Leads
Megger's DLRO duplex connect leads are designed to make sure you have all of the test lead terminations and lead lengths you need to cater for any application encountered when performing low resistance testing.
Their unique lead system includes a bespoke connector which allows connection of kelvin clips or duplex test probes to be changed as required, with simple push and twist changing and a lockable twist cap to secure in place.
This pack includes 2 x duplex probes and the leads required for measurements - various optional leads in other lengths, including extension leads are also available for purchase (see below for more information). Optional connectors such as kelvin clips are also available for purchase separately.
The system is fully modular, so you can buy additional accessories at a later date as and when needed.
Megger DLRO10X Low Resistance Ohmmeter Key Features
- Powerful instrument ideal for any low resistance measurement application with range from 0.1μΩ to 2000Ω (7 ranges)
- Manual and automatic modes - automatically choose a test current of up to 10A DC or you can manually set the test current yourself
- Variety of different measurement modes:
- Normal Mode - initiates a test by pressing the Test button on the instrument front panel after connecting the test leads. Continuity on all four connections is checked, forward and reverse currents are applied
- Auto Mode - allows forward and reverse current measurements to be made and the average displayed simply by making contact with all four probes
- Continuous Mode - allows repeated measurements to be made on the same sample
- Inductive Mode - intended for use when measuring inductive loads
- Unidirectional Mode - exclusive to the DLRO10X - applies a current in one direction only
- Small, lightweight and portable design - ideal for use in tight places, reducing the need for extra long leads and two person operation
- Four terminal resistance method - shows the true resistance of the item under test
- Bright LCD display which is clearly visible under all lighting conditions
- Automatically applies forward/reverse currents which cancel out any standing voltages on sample under test
- Checks for excessive noise during measurements to ensure accurate results
- Automatically detects continuity in P and C circuits, preventing erroneously high readings taking due to high resistance contact
- Powered by a NiMH rechargeable battery pack (interchangeable). Optional mains/line power supply available
- Internal memory storage with download to PC via RS232 connection
- Printer output (printer sold separately)
- Alpha-numerical keypad for entering test notes
- User-selectable high and low limits for simple go-no-go testing
- Interchangeable, modular test leads with simple push and twist connection. Compatible with a wide range of optional probes and accessories (see below for more information)
