Looking for a quality solution for testing Earth? With 40mm jaws, high measuring capability and able to fit in your pocket, the Megger DCM300E is the solution you need.
The Megger DCM300E Digital Earth Leakage Tester is used mainly to determine the existence and amount of earth leakage current in a circuit. Measurement leakage current is critical to electrical systems where the residual current device (RCD), also known as ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), frequently turns off.
The data obtained will immediately identify whether too much earth current causes the tripping or if there is a defect in the RCD or GFCI itself. Excessive earth leakage indicates faults in the installation which are previously undetected. For instance, the cable insulations have deteriorated or some fittings or terminals are exposed because the cable is already worn out by moisture getting into the area. Timely solutions for these faults prevent further damage in the system and ensure the safety of people using it.
Megger DCM300E Digital Earth Leakage Tester Key Features
- Has the capability to measure currents of up to 300 A ac and therefore usable in different situations and applications
- Has four ranges: 30 mA, 300 mA, 30 A and 300 A with a 0.01 mA resolution
- Enables the user to read measurements even in poorly lighted or confined places through its data hold feature.
- Facilitates accurate monitoring of changes though its analog-style bar graph that allows the operator to easily interpret rapidly changing bar graphs instead of the digital display
- Prolongs battery life since it automatically turns its power off if it is not used for 10 minutes.
- Has jaw opening capability of 40 mm
- Is very safe to use as its design even exceeds the safety standards of both IEC and EMC
- Further ensures safety through additional features like a tactile barrier and extra insulation around the jaw that decreases incidences of short circuits between live conductors and protects the operator against electric shock
- Is so far still the easiest and least complicated means of troubleshooting faults within a circuit since its clamp on design does not require the operator to disassemble wirings
- Is extremely handy with its pocket-size design of 64(W)x176(H)x23(D) mm and light weight of only 125 g
