Use Megger's BITE2P impedance tester to check the condition of lead-acid and nickel-cadmium battery cells up to 7000Ah.
This tester is highly recommended for use in many different environments, including electrical power generation plants, substations (utility, railroad and industrial), telecommunications facilities (CO, wireline, wireless and MTSO), UPS systtems, railroad (signals and communications as well as substations), aircraft power supplies and for marine/military use.
The BITE2P is the upgraded version of the Megger BITE2; both instruments are datalogging, downloadable battery testers with the same feature set. The difference between the two is that the BITE2P comes with a built-in printer for onsite report generation.
A self-contained, all-in one solution for testing battery strings while on-line, the BITE2P gives users the ability to apply a test current across the battery string in order to measure total current (AC ripple + test current) and the voltage drop of each cell/jar. The BITE2P battery impedance tester can also be used to calculate DC voltage and interconnection (strap) resistance; this is excellent for working out the overall condition of the entire battery string's electrical path from terminal plate to terminal plate.
The BITE2P consists of both a transmitter and a receiver -the larger transmitter is placed on a surface, while the receiver and clamp systems are used to interpret results along the battery string. The lightweight, portable nature of the receiver makes it significantly easier to test, without the need to move the larger transmitter in most applications.
All measurements are stored directly in the BITE2P's internal memory, alongside other essential information such as ambient/pilot cell temperatures and AC ripple current. These parameters give operators a comprehensive breakdown into the condition of a battery system and thanks to the built-in printer, reports can be instantly printed in the field for further analysis.
Results from the Megger BITE2P can also be directly downloaded to a PC and interacted with further using Megger's PowerDB software package.
