The Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply Kit includes:
- 1x Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply
- 1x Megger GA-00032 Cable Set
- 1x Megger GD-00182 Transport Case
This kit is optimised for use in substations and industrial locations. It can be used to test medium- and high-voltage circuit breakers.
The Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply is able to provide a ripple-free, variable DC voltage that is able to accommodate a high variable load, allowing the user to operate breaker coils and charging motors in order to asses the condition of these components in relation to the manufacturer’s specifications. Using this method, the technician is able to ascertain whether protective mechanisms and solenoids are operating correctly.
The Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply features direct triggering for minimum trip voltage testing and can be operated with a breaker analyser to increase the efficiency of test sequences. Furthermore, the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply’s intuitive layout makes it easy to operate, whilst its integrated thermal cutout and overload protector ensure that it is safe to use.
The Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply is also able to provide a continuously variable AC voltage to closing/ breaking coils via a dedicated output. This instrument can issue a continuously variable AC/DC voltage between 24 and 250 V; the user is able to change between AC and DC voltage coil outputs using a changeover switch. The changeover switch can also be used to set the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply to coil outputs or spring-charging motor outputs.
When checking spring-charging motors the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply can provide un-smoothed, half-wave rectified DC voltage poutput up to 18A. It is easy to turn on the spring-charging motor voltage function as the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply features a dedicated button.
In addition to a spring-charging motor voltage function button, the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply includes buttons for manually triggering pulse via coil outputs, a reset button for thermal, overload and/or time-limit cut-outs. It also features a changeover switch for selecting contact sensing or voltage sensing at the trig point and changeover switches (A) and (B) for incoming power 115/230/135/250 V AC.
Additionally, the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply features inputs for external trig signal or short-circuiting jumper, a current shunt to measure external current coils or spring-charging motors and separate outputs for coil, trip coil, and spring-charging motor voltage. The user can view the selected voltage on the digital voltage readout display.
As the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply is equipped with a separate output for supplying spring-charging motors, the Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply can be used to test circuit breakers where an auxiliary voltage is not connected or available.
The Megger B10E AC/DC Substation Voltage Power Supply is a variable transformer capable of providing a reliable and stable power supply during circuit breaker testing. It is ideal for breaker manufacturers and testing personnel working with high-voltage breakers.
