The Martindale CD1000 actually consists of two items – a transmitter and a receiver. The idea behind the device is that the transmitter sends out an electrical pulse down the targeted cable. The receiver is then able to pick up on this travelling signal, decode the information and present the user with analysis of the cable’s path or the location of detected fuses.
It’s also an ideal product for tracing breaks or incorrect installation as the pulse will be able to determine if breaks are detected and relay this information automatically back to the user. The CD1000 is also suitable for use on both live and dead cables without risk of injury to the person using the tester.
The tester is hugely beneficial for anyone either installing cabling or locating problems with cabling, as when in use the tracing capabilities of this cable detection kit allow users to easily track cabling through walls and ceilings. The CD1000 actually can also be used to trace metallic water and heating pipes, making this tester also suitable for use in the HVAC and plumbing fields.
