The Kewtech EZYPAT-PLUS PAT Tester is an easy-to-use, non–downloading, battery operated PAT Tester optimised for testing Class I and Class II appliances, including items which require a power supply in order to be fully tested, i.e. appliances with electronic on/off switches such as computers and TVs. Furthermore, this PAT tester can also be used to examine extension leads.
The Kewtech EZYPAT-PLUS PAT Tester is the intermediate model in Kewtech’s range of new EZYPAT/ SMARTPAT PAT testers (for more information regarding these models please see the comparison table under the ‘Technical Specifications’). Therefore in addition to including all the tests and features found on the EZYPAT (available here), the EZYPAT-PLUS can also conduct leakage tests at 110V and 230V.
Measurement Capabilities
Like its sister product, the EZYPAT, this instrument can perform:
- 200mA earth continuity tests (IT safe)
- Appliance status pre-check (can be used to check whether the appliance under investigation is on or off)
- Quick continuity check (1 second)
- 5-second continuity check
- 250V DC insulation tests (IT safe)
- 500V DC insulation tests
- Substitute leakage tests (with selectable parameters)
- Extension lead tests
Moreover, the individually labelled function keys facilitate the user’s ability to run automatic test sequences customised for Class I and Class II appliances and extension leads; whilst the Kewtech EZYPAT-PLUS PAT Tester’s Test Lead Null setting ensures that insulation readings are not affected by the resistance found in the its test leads.
The accompanying EZYLEAD Extension Lead Adapter; EZYEARTH Earth Continuity Test Lead with Probe and Crocodile Clip and EZYMAIN Mains Lead all work to ensure that this PAT tester can be quickly and easily adapted to perform numerous tests in a variety of environments.
The results of these tests are clearly indicated on the Kewtech EZYPAT-PLUS PAT Tester’s large, easy-to-read, backlit display which turns red in the event of a failed test and green in the event of a passed one. The PAT Tester is also ergonomically designed and lightweight making it practical as well as versatile and easy-to-use. Its battery operation also adds to its practicality, as this PAT tester can perform up to approximately 1400 tests before the batteries begin to expire.
Overall the PAT tester is the ideal solution to intermediate PAT Testing requirements.
