Kern SXS Platform Balances (3/6kg - 150/300kg) – Choice of Model

The Kern SXS Platform Balances are available in ten models that vary in regards to their ranges and weighing plate sizes; please see the table below for details.

All of the models listed above feature a dual-scale and will automatically switch to the maximum weighing range when required. Measurements are viewable via the backlit, LCD display with a digit height of 55mm. Due to the inclusion of a backlight and a large digit height, the display remains easy-to-read in poor lighting conditions.

In addition to determining weights, the Kern SXS Platform Balances include a number of measurement functions optimised for accuracy and adaptability. The Kern SXS Platform Balances feature the following functions:

• Hold function: when weighing conditions are unstable, this function calculates an average weight in order to provide the user with a stable measurement
• Pieces Counting function
• Tolerance Range function: the user is able to program upper and lower limits making this function particularly useful for sorting and dosing; this function is accompanied by a visual and audible alarm

The stainless-steel display unit has an ingress protection rating of IP68, preventing damage caused by dust and water splashes; it also features an integrated power supply and can be mounted using the supplied wall mount, allowing the user to tailor the balances to the application.

Further to this, the weighing platform is also made from stainless steel and features an IP67 protection rating. It is built to include substruction in the wing ensuring that it is durable and resistant to bending. Additionally, the weighing plate is Earthed to reduce the effects of static charge on the balance. Both the weighing plate and display unit are resistant to corrosion, easy-to-clean and hygienic making the Kern SXS Platform Balances suitable for rugged industrial applications as well as applications within the food industry.

In addition to the Kern SXS Platform Balances durability and measurement capabilities, it is possible to configure these scales to include data interfaces that facilitate the transfer of information to a PC or compatible Kern printer (see ‘Accessories’). These scales can be equipped with an OPTIONAL RS-232, RS-485 or Bluetooth interface (see 'Accessories', these MUST be ordered at the time of purchase as they CANNOT be fitted retrospectively). When weights are sent to print, they are printed with the date and time.
