Kern OKM 173 Metallurgical Microscope

The Kern OKM 173 Metallurgical Microscope is a trinocular reflected light microscope suitable for testing materials and surfaces. It is ideal for quality assurance applications within industry.

The Kern OKM 173 Metallurgical Microscope features an integrated scale in the eyepiece and is equipped with a 30W Philips halogen reflected illumination unit that is both strong and continuously dimmable. This illumination unit provides high-contrast, clear images. The illumination unit is also equipped with an integrated five-slot filter wheel. It is possible to insert blue, green, yellow, grey and blank filters into the filter wheel allowing the user to adjust the microscope's contrast view to suit the application.

This microscope also features a polarising unit (analyser and polariser) for polarising light and a large mechanical stage designed for applications involving reflected illumination. It also includes coarse and fine focusing knobs on either side to ensure that the user is able to adjust the focus on the sample under investigation.

Further to this, the Kern OKM 173 Metallurgical Microscope is supplied with 5x, 10x, LWD 20x and LWD 40x infinity plan objectives, as well as a protective cover, eyecups and multi-lingual instructions. This unit is also compatible with a variety of other objectives, eyepieces and polarising units; please see the ‘Model Specifications and Accessories’ section for further details.

Moreover, as the Kern OKM 173 Metallurgical Microscope is a trinocular microscope it is possible to attach a compatible Kern camera (NOT included, see ‘Accessories’) via a C-mount adapter (NOT included, see ‘Accessories’) in place of one of the eyepieces.

Finally, the Kern OKM 173 Metallurgical Microscope features 360° rotation of the microscope head. It is ideal for the surface quality testing of raw materials and finished products within industries.
