Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales – Choice of Model

The Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales are designed for use in doctors’ surgeries, chemists and hospitals. They are available in three models with different weighing plate sizes and weighing ranges; please see the table below for further details.

The MPC 300K-1LM, with its extensive measurement range and larger weighing plate dimensions, is ideal for weighing medically obese patients.

As these scales are intended for medical applications they are approved for this purpose in accordance with 93/42/EEC. They can also be purchased with an OPTIONAL Kern MIII Verification; this verification is mandatory if the scales are to be used in any medical capacity within EU member states. Each of the Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales features a large, flat weighing platform constructed from non-slip, wear-resistant plastic. The design of this weighing platform ensures that patients can stand safely and securely throughout the weighing procedure. Should patients struggle to retain their balance, the scale’s Hold function will determine an average weight measurement which is retained on the backlit, LCD display. This allows the medical practitioner to attend to the patient, then record the measurement at a safer time.

In addition to the Hold function, the Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales also include a BMI function for determining whether the patient is underweight, overweight or of a normal weight. They also feature a Parent and Child function, allowing the infant to be weighed whilst being held by his/her parent. This function works by first taking the parent's weight, which is then zeroed, allowing the user to view the child’s weight on the display.

As mentioned above, the Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales are equipped with a large, backlit, LCD display. This display has a digit height of 25mm and is part of a display unit that is separate from the weighing plate. This allows the display unit to be moved to ensure easy viewing. It can be mounted to the wall or may be left free standing.

Adding to the adaptability of these scales is their non-slip, height adjustable rubber feet allowing the medical professional to adjust the scales to suit the patient’s requirements, whilst maintaining its stability. The level indicator ensures that the balance’s precision is maintained.

As the Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales are intended for frequent, medical use they feature a handle for easy transportation between medical practices and/or patients' rooms. They are also robust and easy to clean ensuring that they remain hygienic.

These scales can be powered using a mains supply, replaceable batteries (NOT included) or rechargeable, internal battery pack (NOT included, MUST BE ORDERED AT POINT OF SALE, see ‘Accessories’), allowing the user to tailor the Kern MPC Step-On Personal Floor Scales to his/her requirements.
