The Kern IXS IP68-Rated Single-Range Platform Scales are available in ten models with different measurement ranges and weighing plate sizes; please see the table below for further information.

The Kern IXS IP68-Rated Single-Range Platform Scales have been optimised for use in harsh industrial environments. They feature an IP65 weighing plate and an IP68 display unit that is connected to the weighing platform via a 2.5m cable.

These scales are compliant with industry standards. Their weighing plates are constructed from stainless steel and feature a painted steel base and a silicone-coated aluminium load cell. Their protection against corrosion and wing design (ensuring that they are resistant to bending) make the balances suitable for use in challenging environments.

Their display units have also been optimised for challenging environments and as such feature a stainless steel, robust design. Their backlit, high-resolution, LCD displays with a digit height of 55mm are easy to read in dim/dark environments. Further to this, the display units' resistance to water ingress makes them easy-to-clean, ensuring that they remain hygienic. They also feature an integrated power supply and are supplied with a wall mount.

The Kern IXS IP68-Rated Single-Range Platform Scales also feature an ESD drain which protects the balances against electrostatically charged objects and people. This feature adds to the Kern IXS IP68-Rated Single-Range Platform Scales’ practicality and versatility.

Also expanding the Kern IXS IP68-Rated Single-Range Platform Scales’ scope-for-use are their additional measurement functions. These scales feature the following functions:

• Piece-counting
• Totalising: determines the sum of items of a similar weight; this value can be sent to print
• Checkweighing: the user is able to program upper and lower limits; when these limits are reached or breached the scales will issue a visible alarm
• Hold: calculates an average weight when weighing conditions are unstable

As mentioned above, it is possible to send measurements to print. In order to do so the Kern IXS IP68-Rated Single-Range Platform Scales must be bought with an RS-232, RS-485 or Bluetooth interface (see ‘Accessories’). These interfaces allow the user to connect the scales to compatible Kern printers (see ‘Accessories’), as well as existing networks.
