These scales consist of a heavy-duty balance and a display unit featuring a large, backlit display with a digit height of 52mm. The Kern IFB Industrial Single-Range Platform Scales are IP65 certified ensuring they are protected against dust and water splashes. Furthermore, the weighing plate is constructed from stainless steel and includes a painted steel base as well as a silicone-coated load cell. Again, these features add to the Kern IFB Industrial Single-Range Platform Scales’ hardiness and make them suitable for use on industrial sites, particularly as they are compliant with industry standards.

Also working to protect these scales from the elements is the supplied protective working cover. The Kern IFB Industrial Single-Range Platform Scales are also supplied with a benchtop stand with a wall mount for the display unit, allowing the user to assemble the Kern IFB Industrial Single-Range Platform Scales to suit his/her requirements.

Via the display unit the user can access a variety of measurement functions, including:

• Pieces/ counting
• Totalising: the weights of similar items are added together and the total is printed
• Checkweighing: programmable upper and lower limits, when limits are breached the scales issue an audible and visual alarm
• Hold: the scales will determine an average value when weighing conditions are unstable

The Kern IFB Industrial Single-Range Platform Scales also include an RS-232 interface allowing the user to send information to a PC or compatible Kern printer (NOT included, see 'Accessories'). Weights sent to print are printed with the date and time.

Finally, these scales are powered using the supplied mains adapter. However, it is possible to equip the Kern IFB Industrial Single-Range Platform Scales with an internal, rechargeable battery pack (see ‘Accessories’). This battery pack MUST be ordered at the time of purchase and is able to supply the scales with up to 35 hours of power with the backlight off and 12 hours of power with the backlight on.
