Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balance Description

The Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances can be purchased with a DAkks calibration: the German equivalent of a UKAS calibration. It ensures compliance with European standards and is internationally recognised.

Unlike their sister products, the Kern EWJ-M Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances, these scales CANNOT be purchased with a Kern MII Verification and as such are NOT suitable for commercial, medical, or official applications within EU member states, as compliance with the EU directive 2014/31/EEC cannot be verified.

The Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances are optimised for accuracy and to this end include an automatic internal adjustment. This feature activates every two hours to ensure that a high degree of accuracy is maintained irrespective of the scales’ surroundings.

Measurements are indicated on the Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances’ large, backlit, LCD, with a digit height of 16.5mm. The display also includes a capacity bar that illuminates to indicate the remaining weighing range, as well as several buttons each optimised for different measurement functions.

Measurement functions available on the Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balance include:

• Pieces/ Counting
• Recipe: the weights of composite ingredients are combined to determine the total weight of the recipe; this value can be sent to print
• Percentage Deviation: the difference between the programmed target weight (100%) and the object’s actual weight is measured and expressed as a percentage

As well as function buttons optimised for the above features, the Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances also include a button allowing users to switch between measurement units.

In addition to this, the Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances feature USB and RS-232 interfaces facilitating the user’s ability to connect the scales to a PC or compatible Kern printer (sold separately, see ‘Accessories’). Weights sent to print are printed with the date and time.

These scales are also supplied with a mains adapter and protective working cover. These accessories, combined with the Kern EWJ Automatic Adjustment Precision Balances’ small and lightweight design, make them easy to transport and use across various worksites.
