The Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales are easily transportable balances that are ideal for weighing parcels and other objects, as well as quantifying an unknown number of homogeneous items. These single-range scales are available in five models with different maximum weighing ranges and weighing plate sizes; for further information, please see the following table.

The Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales are optimised for use in challenging environments. To this end, they feature a stainless steel weighing plate, painted steel base and a silicone-coated aluminium load cell, all of which are protected against dust and water ingress. The Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales have an IP rating of 65.

In addition to its rugged construction, the Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales have been designed to ensure that they are as adaptable as possible, again making them suitable for use in challenging, industrial environments. They each include a flip-flop display unit that can be left freestanding, attached to a stand, or screwed to a wall. The display unit has been designed to facilitate the rotating of the upper housing shell allowing the user to determine the angle of the display.

Furthermore, the compact and lightweight design of these balances mean that they can be transported and used across a variety of environments. As such, the Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales are fitted with a level indicator and levelling feet to ensure that measurements are conducted accurately in all settings.

Moreover, it is possible to operate the Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales remotely via their Kern Communication Protocols interface (KCP). KCP is a standard interface command structure for Kern’s instruments. It enables KCP instruments to be connected to a PC, industrial control system or other digital systems; thereby providing the user with access to the balances' measurement parameters and functions via his/her computer or system.

Some of the measurement functions present on the Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales include:

• Counting / Pieces: for quantifying large numbers of homogeneous small parts
• Totalising: the weights of similar items are added together and the resultant weight is printed
• Percentage determination: ascertains the percentage deviation of the object(s) from the target weight
• Alarm: programmable upper- and lower-limits; when these limits are breached the scales will issue an audible and visual alert; this feature is particularly useful when portioning, dispensing and grading
• Hold: determines the average weight when weighing conditions are unstable

As indicated above, it is possible to send data to print using these scales and a compatible OPTIONAL Kern printer. This is due to the inclusion of an RS-232 interface. The Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales are also supplied with a benchtop stand with a wall mount for the display unit and a protective working cover.
