Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales (3/6kg - 150/300kg) – Choice of Model

The Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales are available in nineteen models. These balances vary in regards to their ranges and weighing plate sizes. For further information, please see the following table.

Unlike their sister products, the Kern EOC Single-Range Industrial Platform Scales, these balances are equipped with two measurement ranges and will automatically change to the next largest weighing range when required. These instruments are ideal for weighing parcels and similar items. To this end, they include a number of measurement functions designed to add to the ease of measurement. In addition to this, the Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales also include functions optimised for quantifying an unknown number of homogeneous items.

Measurement functions available on the Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales include:

• Counting/ Pieces: large numbers of small, homogenous parts can be quantified using this function
• Totalising: calculates the sum of similar items; the resultant weight can be printed
• Percentage Determination: the difference between the programmed target weight (100%) and the object’s actual weight is calculated and displayed as a percentage
• Alarm: the scales can be programmed to include upper and lower limits; limit transgression triggers an audible and visual alert; this feature is ideal for portioning, dispensing and grading applications
• Hold: calculates an average weight when weighing conditions are unstable

As indicated above it is possible to send information to print using the Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales. This is facilitated by an OPTIONAL compatible Kern printer (see ‘Accessories’) and the balances’ RS-232 interface. Weights are printed with the date and time.

In addition to an RS-232 interface, the Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales are also equipped with Kern’s Communication Protocol (KCP) interface. As a result, the user is able to access measurement parameters and the aforementioned functions remotely via his/her PC, an industrial control system, or another digital system.

In order to ensure measurements are conducted accurately, the Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales are equipped with a level indicator and levelling feet. This ensures that the scales remain unaffected by the terrain of their environments and expands their scope-for-use.

Also expanding the scope-for-use of these instruments is their compact, lightweight design, which enables them to be easily transported between worksites; whilst their rugged, IP65 construction ensures that they can be used in a variety of challenging locations. They feature a stainless steel weighing plate, painted steel base and a silicone-coated aluminium load cell.

In addition to this, the Kern EOC Dual-Range Industrial Platform Scales are equipped with a flip-flop display unit. The upper housing shell of the display unit can be rotated allowing the user to determine the angle of the display, thereby ensuring that it is visible throughout the application.  Moreover, the display unit can be left freestanding or may be connected to the included benchtop stand or screwed to a wall using the supplied wall mount.

 These scales are also supplied with a protective working cover, again adding to their suitability for rugged environments.
