Kern ALJ-5DA Dual-Range Analytical Balance (82g/220g)

The Kern ALJ-5DA Dual-Range Analytical Balance can be used to determine the weights of a variety of items. To this end, it features two ranges with upper limits of 82g and 220g, expanding its scope-for-use.

This highly accurate balance includes a number of features designed to maintain this instrument’s accuracy in a variety of environments. It features an electromagnetic force compensation function and an internal automatic adjustment feature. The latter feature is designed to maintain the balance’s accuracy in various temperatures; it will alter the balance when a temperature change of equal to or greater than 1.2°C is detected. Additionally, this feature can be configured to activate every three hours in order to verify and/or adjust the balance’s accuracy as necessary.

Other features and functions present on the Kern ALJ-5DA Dual-Range Analytical Balance include:

• Hold: if weighing conditions are unsteady/ unstable the balance will determine an average reading
• Pieces Counting
• Percentage Determination: ascertains the percentage deviation from the target weight (100%)
• Recipe: the total weight of the recipe is determined by adding together the composite ingredients

Recipe weights can be sent to print via the RS-232 interface and a compatible Kern printer (NOT included). In addition to this, the user is able to send selected readings to print; these weights are printed with the date and time.

Measurements are viewable via the Kern ALJ-5DA Dual-Range Analytical Balance’s LCD, backlit display with a digit height of 17mm. The user can change measurement units at the touch of a button and is able to program higher and lower alarm limits using the ergonomically designed keypad optimised for both right- and left-handed users. When either the upper or lower limits are breached the user will be alerted via an audible and visual alarm.

Adding to this instruments ergonomics is its compact size, whilst its large, glass draught shield with three sliding doors protects the items-under-investigation from contamination and provides the user with a clear view and easy access to the objects. This instrument is also supplied with a protective working cover.
