The HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe is available as a standalone instrument or as part of a kit; please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section for further details.
The HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe functions as a handheld direct contact secondary voltage detector capable of identifying voltages between 50V AC and 600V AC. Additionally, when used with insulating gloves of the appropriate rating, the HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe can be used as a proximity voltage detector for voltages exceeding 21kV AC.
When the HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe detects voltage, it will issue a flashing red light and beeping sound. This simple-to-use, small and light contact voltage detector can be used to test exposed metallic surfaces and conductors for the presence of secondary voltage. It is also suitable for testing unshielded primary voltage cable insulation and primary voltage joint and termination points for the presence of voltage.
The HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe is always on: it does not feature an on/off switch. This voltage detector is powered by two AA field-replaceable lithium/ alkaline batteries; when the flashing light is no longer visible this indicates that the battery has become low and may require replacing.
To ensure correct functionality it is recommended that the HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe is tested using the HD Electric PT-VP Voltage Probe Tester both before and after use.
The HD Electric VP-1 Direct Contact Voltage Probe is an ergonomic, easy-to-use and effective direct contact secondary voltage detector.
